I have made the journey to Sturgis and yes rode my Bike all the way and back (2100 mi. Spokane, Wa to Sturgis,SD). The trip was a great time and well worth it. Of course, I did see many of our fellow riders trailer in, but to each their own. I have never seen so many bikes in one place as that of the Sturgis Rally. You could literally spend every day of the Rally looking at all the different rides out there and still not see them all. Everyday can be spent trying to take in all the vendors and day rides that are possible. We did take in most of the local towns with in a 50 mile radius, and yes every one of those towns were full of bikes! The experience is definitely one that every rider should take the time to be a part of. As a rider you can increase your knowledge of your bike and what will help bring optimum performance from your ride from all the different vendors. Of course, there is a variety of restaurants, bars, and shops that are to many to mention. Legendary stops are the Knuckle, Broken Spoke, One Eyed Jacks, and the Harley shops. A short trip to Deadwood is a must, you can see some history as well as enjoy some great food and shops. While in Sturgis we camped at Bear Butte Campground. A very nice, clean, and well run campground close to all the action of Sturgis and some of their own. There is so much to write about that I will break up my post into parts over the next few days. I have definitely learned about some great practices and products, and will share them with you.
